I practice individual psychodynamic psychotherapy with medication management and psychotherapy combined. In my training and experience split treatment does not
provide adequate time or knowledge for optimal treatment. I tailor therapy to meet the patient's needs, i.e. less complex problems require briefer therapies.
I am an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and a Clinical Instructor at both Georgetown and George Washington University Schools of Medicine.
I have a subspecialization in Psychosomatic Medicine with a specific focus in conditions involving both psychiatric and general medical conditions.

Dr. Isaac is the only therapist I've seen over the past 15 years who really calls it like it is. If you're looking for someone who listens carefully, thinks about what you're saying, and then offers insightful observations that can move you forward, he's your guy. Dr. Isaac helps me examine the misguided "stories" I sometimes tell myself, and gives me the tools to move forward. Highly recommended, especially if you need someone to hold your feet to the fire and really get to the crux of what's bothering you. (He's also a great therapist for newbies, too, if that's what you are.)

A Patient advocate who goes above and beyond. Extremely comfortable doctor and atmosphere! Specializes in addiction therapy, anxiety, trauma, and family issues. The best psychiatrist I have ever had!

I'm surprised that everyone had such great reviews -- he was absolutely terrible. He was VERY condescending, rude, and judgmental and always wore this disgusting smirk on his face. I cannot, in good conscious, recommend him to anyone else.
Insightful guy
He was very easy to talk to. I felt that he was nonjudgmental and generally a kind professional that wanted to help me get better.
Dr. Isaac and I have had a dr./pt. relationship for several years. After working with many quite competent MDs and other medical professionals over the course of more than 2 decades, my experience with Dr. Isaac has been undoubtedly the most productive. He works collaboratively with me as a patient. He is creative, intelligent, and responsible in implementing treatment options. He seriously considers my point of view and honestly yet respectfully articulates his assessments. In summary, Dr. Isaac is one of the key driving forces in my confidence in chronic illness management, if not achievement of full remission. Great visit, I like the new office. It was easy to find and comfortable. Nicely located next to starbucks and other café sort of places. Plus same ol' Dr. Isaac worth traveling for that is for certain.
