I came in for a simple cough and she insisted on a full physical. I did the physical which included a million of tests. At the end of the 2 hour appointment she almost dismissed me after I again reminded her that what I really needed was something for my cough to which she replied "oh yeah" I was supposed to go in for my results which should honestly be done by phone but I cancelled. She didn't even send my prescriptions to my pharmacy like she said she would and I left her a voicemail asking her about this but she never followed up with me and I ended up never getting my medicine. She wants to charge me for cancellation but I refuse to pay considering she never got back to me about anything. Very strange woman and I can tell she only cared about racking up as much on my insurance.
She doesn’t have a receptionist so is always running around the office like crazy. She also constantly pushes unnecessary procedures so she can charge the insurance company. After she sent my rx to the wrong pharmacy even when I checked with her multiple times, I canceled my follow up and was charged a cancelation fee.
She was very thorough and we went over everything I wanted to talk about and then some. Definitely satisfied with the experience.
She’s basically a con artist. She asks you to sign a grainy paper, and when you ask questions she dismisses them. I found out later that she checks off procedures afterwards on the grainy paper and charges your insurance. She’s not very knowledgeable. She sends you to do lab tests of multiple things and when the results come back she refers you to others because she can’t explain it well. Also she is all over the place, she will ask you for your name numerous times. To top it all off she gave me someone else’s portal information, talk about HIPPA violation. I would recommend Dr. Cherry. I wish I had done my research prior to visiting her.
I went to see Dr. Ostrager on my lunch break. She took 30 mins to see me. Fine, not a problem. She seemed to be all over the place and didn't make me feel very confident. She asked me 6 times if I was pregnant. She sent me for an X-ray and then scheduled a follow-up appointment at 8am. I went to the follow up and the office was locked and dark. I waited for 15-20 mins. The doorman asked me if I was the same person that this happened to last week. At 8:25 the doctor called to tell me that her time is valuable and that she was only 25 mins late and will still be charging me a no show fee. My time is valuable as well and I will be disputing the charge. Good thing I thought to take a picture of the closed office at the time.
Dr Ostrager mainly works on neck & back pains and was not able to do anything for what I had. Very nice otherwise
She doesn't have a receptionist and doesnt know how to do the paperwork herself. When people walked in for their appointments, she looked at me, confused as if she had no idea they were coming in that day. She went so far as to question the patient if they had an appointment that day. Overall, shes very disorganized and didnt seem to be very knowledgeable about the process of dealing with a new patient. Her way of doing paperwork is very archaic and she's clueless when it comes to ZocDoc so don't try to view your results online. She was also 10 mins late to the office and I was her first appointment that morning. Stood outside waiting because no one else was in the office before her.
I went to Dr. Ostrager for osteopathic manipulation, I had pain in my lower back and wanted my spine realigned. She was polite and professional. She did inform me that this was not her specialty but she knew how to do it. I felt a bit uneasy but went ahead. She did a great job! I feel sore but better already.
Great Doctor, I will keep visiting
Dr. Ostranger is super thorough and makes sure that she addresses all your problems. She's knowledgeable and extremely easy to talk to. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a general doctor!
I went for an annual physical exam. Was perfect.
I had a great visit with Dr. Ostrager! I went in for an annual physical and then had a couple of questions regarding another issue. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. The wait was only because her receptionist was out last minute so she was manning the office herself. She even referred me to a specialist immediately who had an office on a different floor. I truly appreciated how caring she is. Dr. Ostrager is a wonderful doctor and I highly recommend her!
I've never had a worse experience with a doctor. I walked in to the office that was filled with papers and clutter everywhere. Dr. Ostrager left a patient to tell me to sit down...and wait...and wait. I went in for a simple physical and she hooked me up to numerous machines. She asked the same questions over and over again. When I went to leave I had four prescriptions in hand that she had written for various issues (none of which I had, nor even asked for) and told me to get my results I would have to come in for another visit! I ended up getting a huge bill from insurance for all the 'additional tests' and still have yet to find out my results. Horrible experience overall.
Very nice and tested me for multiple issues.
Dr. Ostranger is personable and professional. She has been very accommodating about seeing me on short notice or working around my schedule. I feel like I get the personal attention that I need and that no stone is left unturned after our visits. I called her on a Saturday and asked her if she could see me same day and she fit me in under 2 hours! Happy I have a Dr. in New York I feel I can trust.
No bedside manner (didn't wash hands before and after exam!) Long wait time despite having an appointment, and having filled in the paperworks prior i had to start all over again. Very alarming doctor an unpleasant - i will never go again
She is very thorough and she is a one woman show currently. Her first name is Cherry, what's not to love!
I thought she was personable and kind
Dr Ostrager was great. Genuinely interested in helping find solutions to an ailment, and willing to take as much time as required rather than rushing through the appointment
She took me in exactly at the time of my appointment which was great! All things considered I think she did a good job. She was alone (as in no receptionist) and was doing everything herself so she was a bit rushed. I am not sure if that is how it normally is but at first it felt a little rushed and business like, but after the paperwork etc etc she was nice and addressed all my concerns. She also checked for things I didnt ask for which was great because it had been a while since I had been to a PCP. I appreciated her thoroughness.
Really bad. I waited 50 minutes, then spent 20 minutes answering questions from her (that I already answered in the forms). She didn't help my condition at all, and gave me advice that I already read on the internet (for stomach issues, stick to BRAT diet).
She's an excellent patient advocate and stayed late to ensure that I got all of the care I needed.
The doctor sent me to so many referrals. It turned out that I am very healthy.
Dr. Ostrager was wonderful. She went above and beyond to make sure that my needs were met, and even took the time to find and introduce me to other healthcare professionals who would be able to fit my needs even more.
Excellent doctor! Very thorough, insightful and personable. Answered all of my questions and took her time which was very much appreciated. I will definitely be back!
I felt she was asking me questions just to ask questions, then would write down whatever she felt was a satisfactory answer. For example when she asked about my alcohol intake she "smudged" the average number of drinks I consumed and wrote I didn't start drinking until I was 21 "to keep it legal" even though I told her I had began drinking before than. As my doctor she should be more concerned with me telling the truth. Glossed over my test results, forced me to come back in and receive more tests. Overall didn't feel comfortable or trust her opinion and will not be going back
Dr. Ostrager took two hours to take my medical history even though all I had was a sinus infection and all I needed was antibiotics. She then insisted on taking blood despite the fact that I did not want her to, and in doing that blew my vein which has bruised my arm very badly and has been very painful. She became distracted at many points throughout the two hour appointment and brought up the election which I found unprofessional. She also told me my eardrums looked "weird" and insisted that I take a pregnancy test multiple times despite my telling her that wasn't the reason I was there and I did not want to do so. She continued to be distracted and not focus on the problems at hand. Ultimately after these two hours, she gave me the antibiotics I had intitially asked for and I finally left. I would never return to this office again.
She always seemed frazzled when I'd visit the office ... probably because she didn't have a receptionist at the time. Though she was nice and thorough when we were 1:1, the business transaction bits of the visits were less than smooth. I incurred out of pocket lab fees due to miscommunication on her end / she misfiled a claim. Though she tried to rectify it, the lab/insurance wouldn't recognize it at that point. Hope she's gotten help around the office since my last visit.
It was just a very off visit. I felt that she lacked a filter. I was very uncomfortable.
Worst appointment I've ever had. Feels like she wants to tack on the blood tests to rack up the bill. It took 45 minutes to check in because she wasn't sure if I had a copay or not. She was unwilling to bill me later to save time. I felt unsafe with her drawing blood and wish I never went.
Very unprofessional and unorganized - even though I had provided all necessary registration info upfront through zocdoc , dr ostrager made me fill out the same paper forms all over again which took 20+ minutes since she did not keep all necessary forms filed together and had to search for them. Once consultation began, she asked all these questions once again, took notes haphazardly and prescribed me superfluous lab tests on the fly. Would not recommend to anyone
She was very personable and thorough. I had a great experience and would recommend her to anybody.
Cherry was extremely unprofessional. Upon my first visit I waited for over an hour and half and throughout my checkup Cherry asked me the same questions time after time. She seemed distracted and like she was not listening to me at all. For my followup I arrived promptly at 8:00 for my 8am appointment. After waiting for 20 minutes outside of her office (and given her history of running far behind) I left as she was still not there and the office was closed. I then received a call from her at close to 8:30 asking why I had left and threatening to charge me a 'missed appointment fee'. I would not recommend Cherry to anyone.
Great visit with very personalized care. Dr. Ostrager clearly has her patients' best interests at heart. During my appointment she even made several calls to specialists to check their availability and to verify if they took my insurance.
Very chill and nice lady - but not professional. Got too caught up in technology that she didn't know how to use.
She was extremely unprofessional and did not offer a trusting and safe environment. I could hear her in exam rooms with other patients which should be private and confidential. I was so appauled that I ended up walking out after she made me wait 2 hours.
The visit was a bit strange. I waited over an hr past my appt to be seen for my physical. She kept asking the same questions over and over. Some questions she would answer them before I did "oh you probably don't have that right?". She didn't seem to know where to go next was so out of focus and all over the place. She is discussing personal matters during her visit (about not having a receptionist which seems like she never has one). Sent me for testing which was a waste of time. When results came back she didn't explain all of the results to me. Thank God I was give a copy though because i was scheduled to see my GYN next and I happen to show her the results from Dr. Ostrager. Turned out I had a UTI she never told me about. My GYN was thankfully able to prescribe meds for me. Over all a very weird experience. Will not be coming back.
PLEASE READ: This doctor truly is the worst human I have ever met. She makes you feel like you are dying and can't remember anything. She truly is crazy nuts. AVOID
She was very unprofessional. I was seen right away but there was no secretary and no other person in the office. The office was clean and well put together, but she was not. Her coat was dirty and she was sick. She also told me that she was hung over. I told her that I preferred a more natural way of going about things and she proceeded to sign me up for every test and specialty doctor she knew. She never handed me back my license and insurance card and called me a few hours later. I told her that I could not be at the office until 5:00 and she said she may not be there so she could mail it. So I had to leave what I was doing to hurry back to her office to get my things back.
She was great! The office was beautiful and she take care of me right away. I Would recommend her to others
This was the worst drs appt I have ever had!! the doctor was running around the office looking for a chart she had misplaced, left me in the exam room for over 20 Minutes as she came in and out looking for the chart. Once she did come in she kept pushing me to have various extra tests that I didnt need. And ran through the physical examination and she would ask me questions but didnt wait for me to answer, she just would move onto the next question as she was more preocupied with her notes than what I was saying. Do NOT go to this DR. truly a terrible consultation
I went in for a routine physical and Dr. Ostrager was late in seeing me. Her registration process is extremely redundant. She asks about the same medical history on about four different forms, digital and handwritten. It wastes a lot of time. In the appointment, she spent a tremendous amount of time writing referrals to her friends even though I said I wasn't interested in referrals and was in a hurry to get work. She insisted on scheduling a follow up to discuss blood work before my test results were in, which is a policy I have never encountered and smacks of wanting to charge my insurance and me for another appointment even if I didn't have a problem worth discussing. I don't have a problem and I won't be seeing her again.
Not the most professional. Laughed when I told symptoms, did not really know what was wrong & couldnt recommend anyone to help further. Discussed in the waiting area the reason for my visit in front of others (non medical professionals).
This office does not have a receptionist or nurse hired, which made the appointment extremely slow and inefficient. She was very slow at putting me in the system, asks redundant questions and makes awkward comments. The Dr. was flustered as a result of how she currently works her practice. She was not helpful with my questions and concerns.
Doctor made me feel very relax and comfortable. Office is very clean. Definitely recommend.
Dr Ostrager was somewhat absent minded and recommended tests that were not wholly necessary. She has recently moved into her office and has no administrative help, meaning she's more focused on running the office herself than the care she is providing patients.
TLDR; Dr. Ostrager needs to adapt to technology, and also postpone seeing patients until her new office is fully equipped. I needed a close doctor who was immediately available, and found Dr. Ostrager. There were many red flags when I arrived at her office: 1.) She only accepts payment in the form of cash or check which makes me feel like I'm getting a back alley abortion. 2.) Even though I filled out all of the medical history forms online though ZocDoc, she said she needed me to fill them out again, on paper forms. Then we went through the _exact same questions_ while she entered them manually into some webapp using Internet Explorer. It was painful watching her struggle with this while hearing her complain about how "everything's electronic now". 3.) She performed a hernia examination (turn and cough), then forgot she had already done it, and did it again. 4.) I had an issue where she needed to take some cultures, but couldn't because her office wasn't fully stocked yet. I guess she had just moved into this office, and there were still ladders and paint cans strewn around. 5.) She complained about how difficult it was to use a _digital scale_, and that it was much easier before everything became electronic. 6.) I was getting some tests done with some sensitive information, and she insisted that I come back into her office to get the results instead of mailing them to me. She said it's illegal to give the results over the phone or email, which seems not entirely true. I left before she took the blood samples because she was essentially going to hold my test results hostage unless I came back in. That was the final straw. Some suggestions to Dr. Ostrager: 1.) Use the ZocDoc medical forms. If you want paper copies, print them out. 2.) Find a way to accept credit card. 3.) Make sure your office is fully stocked and setup before accepting patients. 4.) Use a modern browser like chrome or firefox, your webapp will run so much more smoothly.
I have been seeing Dr. O for years! She's very thorough when conducting physical examinations, completing any necessary paperwork, and is really easy to talk to. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a new primary care physician!
Dr. Ostrager was very disorganized. I hate to write negative reviews but think people should know. The wait time was long each visit and she repeatedly asked me the same questions over and over (not listening to my answers). Those are items I overlooked on the first few visits, as we are all human, but her sloppiness made me mistrust her expertise. She submitted the wrong diagnostic form for a follow-up procedure and I had to call and get that straightened out during my appointment at the other location. I would not recommend her.
Dr. Cherry was extremely unorganized, poor bedside manner and her exam room was cluttered and filthy! I ended up walking out mid exam! Avoid her office and do research, she has poor reviews online.. There is a reason why she has so many times available!
The examination room seemed very disorganized and the doctor did not seem comfortable with the new online system. I was asked to provide quite a bit of information about myself in multiple places both on paper and then in the new computer system. It seemed to be unnecessary for me to answer the same questions multiple times when all of my information was written out for the doctor to review at a later point rather than taking up nearly an hour and a half of time for my appointment. Additionally, the doctor seemed more focused on herself than on my actual appointment.
She was extremely thorough and really listened.
The office was unprofessional and everything took a very long time as the doctor did the entire process - from collecting my insurance information to taking my copay.
This doctor was neurotic and disorganised - I had to live before I got treatment because I was concerned by her crazy demeanour, actions and behaviour especially in the way she kept trying to force me to sign up to additional services by trying to scare me about the possible results of my tests. It was a waste of time and I would never recommend her.
Made me switch my appointment to an hour earlier but didn't actually see me until after my original appointment time. So unprofessional talking about other patients in detail. Called some of my symptoms crazy.
Doctor Cherry Ostrager made me wait for over an hour to see her, despite the fact that I had an appointment. I went to see her for a sore throat and she had me in her office for more than three hours trying to convince me that I had Lyme Disease, a heart murmur, skin cancer, and that I was infertile. She was chaotic and kept running into closed doors and knocked her head on a table three times when she went to bend over to pick up a dropped pen. I can't make this stuff up. She was gossiping about her staff and continued talking about her broker who was helping her move into a new office. She referred me to four specialists despite the fact that the only symptom I had was a sore throat. Despite the fact that she seemed nice, she is an awful doctor and one that I cannot recommend to my worst enemy.
She is a joke... do yourself a favor and do not go to her. It was a waste of time. Could not take her seriously.
I would not suggest seeing this doctor. She was extremely unprofessional and seemed extremely distracted by everything. The entire appointment was completely unsatisfactory and I would not return to see her again.
It was my first time consulting with Dr Ostrager, and it was excellent. She was extremely thorough, flexible, and friendly. I cannot remember the last time my physician cleared his/her schedule to do a bunch of optional checks. Highly recommend her, and I plan to continue to visit.
Very thorough but long wait
No comments .just expected a bit more proffesionalism
This was my first visit to Dr. Ostrager. She was very professional, friendly and thorough.
not only did I wait almost 2 hours, She took a regular patient before me even though I was already waiting 30 minutes. I also never recieved the results of my tests. I had to call over a week later.
I couldn't have been happier with the care that Dr. Ostranger gave me. She was very thorough with my exam and treated me like a valued patient. I am a nurse and have worked with many doctors that rush through an exam, Dr. Ostrager was patient and knowledgeable. She addressed every one of my concerns and provided excellent care. I highly recommend her.
horrible. She saw me for 20 minutes tops which included her making me run out to the bank to get money for the cash only copay, litening to three messages on her voicemail outloud infront of me, and answering a phone call. She couldnt help me at all as well.
I love Dr. Ostrager. She has been very thorough with me and even though the wait time is a bit long, it is worth it. Dr. Ostrager is funny plus she makes the patient feel comfortable. I WILL continually go to her and I also love the office.
