Acerca de Rob Parrott

Honesty, trust, safety, and connection are the values that guide my therapeutic practice. As an individual and couple therapist I focus on helping clients transform their lives and their relationships by discovering new and better ways of getting their emotional needs met. I look to combine a knowledge of the interpersonal-neurobiological underpinnings of human behavior along with a practical understanding of the struggles of being a human and finding love and meaningful work in a world of competing interests. Clients come to my office seeking help with social anxiety, recurrent depression, and problems with significant others and coworkers, among other issues. Some are new to New York City struggling to adjust to its pace and problems, others are young and mid-career professionals feeling stuck while attempting to take the next steps in their career or personal lives. Whatever the issue may be, I believe feeling understood and safe to explore your feelings is the essence of therapy and I work hard to facilitate this change process from the first session. My work prioritizes helping clients unlock their full potential and developing the capacity to work through nearly any issue they may be facing.

The location is convenient. I feel comfortable to taking to him, and confident to talk private anxiety concerns. Will continue to work with him on a weekly basis.

The interview was unstructured. He pretty much started with "so tell me about yourself." I have attention issues and anxiety, so if you ask me open ended questions like this, I give rambling unfocused answers. But he didn't know this becausehe took no clinical history and no notes. I felt like I spent half an hour (yes, half hour) just aimlessly talking. I will not be seeing this practitioner again.

I very much enjoyed meeting Tyler. He was very understanding and listened to everything I said and stayed very much "tuned in" to what I was saying. I look forward to my next meeting!

I've been a client of his for two years. He is kind, empathic and attentive. He's professional when necessary but has a warm disposition and always ensures that I am comfortable. He is the first and only therapist I have metwith and am very happy to continue working with him.
